Contactless Payments | Visa
You want fast and secure. We have contactless.
Now you can deliver effortless payment experiences to your customers at point of sale.
Contactless payments
Contactless payments allow your customers to simply tap to pay – with a contactless-enabled card, mobile phone or payment-enabled device.
Benefits
Why go Contactless?
Consumers are shifting to contactless payments because they make transactions fast and secure. Here’s how contactless can benefit your business.
A seamless customer experience
Processing a tap to pay transaction is simple, convenient and secure – and your customers can tap to pay in seconds.
Secure transactions
EMV contactless transactions are more secure than traditional mag-stripe transactions. Visa’s EMV-contactless technology is called quick Visa SmartDebit Credit (qVSDC).
It’s secure. Contactless cards use the same security as chip cards by generating a transaction-specific, one-time-use code, thus protecting your payment information.
Operational efficiency
Contactless payments improve throughput for merchants and reduce the handling of cash. Faster transaction times mean shorter queues and a lesser likelihood of abandoned sales.
Future-proof your business
Investing in contactless now lays the groundwork for the next generation of payment technologies.
As of January 2018, 46% of face-to-face US transactions occur at contactless-enabled locations, up from 34% one year prior.¹
