## Outbound APIs

### Outbound API Basics

The DPS Outbound APIs contain messages that are delivered by DPS, in near real-time, to the endpoints you host on your system. DPS Outbound APIs are triggered by external events either initiated by a cardholder interacting with their digital wallet or with maintenance events related to your card and account records.

These APIs enable access to:

- Visa Token Cardholder Verification Methods
- Visa Token Send Passcode
- Visa Token Retrieve Cardholder Profile (limited availability)
- Card and Account Event Notifications (limited availability)

The DPS Outbound APIs are restricted APIs. To request access to the APIs and detailed specifications under [API Reference](https://developer.visa.com/capabilities/dps-card-and-account-services/reference), work with your Visa DPS Implementation Manager.

### How to Integrate

The DPS Outbound APIs need to be integrated with endpoints hosted on your system.
