## Getting Started with Merchant Search

### About Merchant Search

Merchant Search is a product designed to address various pain points within the payment industry due to the lack of proper merchant data within transactions.

There are three API bundles available under Merchant Search catering for the following purposes:

1\. Transaction Enrichment: Enables clients to input data fields from transaction and provides enhanced merchant information (e.g. street address, URL which is not part of transaction data)

2\. Generic Search: Enables clients to input public information about merchants (e.g. name, location) to fetch the Visa identifiers and obtain missing additional info about merchants

3\. Nearby Merchants: Enables clients to search for nearby Visa accepting merchants

### Things to Know

#### **Sandbox vs Production?**

Sandbox for Merchant Search only has dummy data. Sandbox is intended only for integration testing. For actual data testing, please reach out to sales team or test in production environment (if you already have access)

#### How to determine which APIs to use?

Please refer to the API reference page to learn more about the APIs which are applicable to your use case. Please contact support team in case of additional questions.

#### Payment networks supported:

Available for all payment networks regardless of brand or network routing

#### Digital receipts:

Visa also offers digital receipts from participating merchants through Order Insights digital (separate product). Coverage varies based on markets.
