Jump-start card usage

The Visa Digital Enablement (VDE) Lite App enables consumers to instantly provision Visa and Mastercard1 cards to Apple Pay and Google Wallet, without having to download a full mobile app. Once in the payment wallet, the card can be immediately used anywhere Apple Pay or Google Wallet payment services are supported. By using App Clips™ (iOS) and Instant Apps (Android™) technology, clients enjoy the benefit of a white-label solution which is fast and simple to deploy while supporting multiple digital-first use cases.

VDE Lite App launches into the App Clip or Instant App provisioning flows when a cardholder invokes an encrypted payload, often delivered by email/SMS or leveraging a QR Code, to a personal mobile device.

Our VDE Lite App is designed to expedite the market entry for numerous clients. It aims to simplify software development and cut down costs, accommodate various use cases, and simultaneously offer a seamless provisioning experience to cardholders.

Enhanced Offering

As part of the VDE Lite App product suite, Visa provides a supplemental VDE Lite App URL Generation API, which supports clients who do not have, or do not want to develop, the encrypted payload URL themselves. Clients can leverage the Visa Developer Platform and code to the VDE Lite App URL Generation API using our technical specifications. This product will create the encrypted payload on behalf of the client, including optional delivery of the encrypted payload to the cardholder on the client’s behalf.
